What kind of reviews can I write?

As we have mentioned, we are interested in ANY reviews that you can write.
We only ask that you are very specific. For example, if you are reviewing a hotel or car rental company please specify where it is located.
If you are reviewing a store near you, please specify the city and the street.
If you’re reviewing your boy/girl friend, husband/wife or boss think about your future first

dooyooMiles are the reward points that dooyoo gives members for participating on the site. Members earn dooyooMiles each time they write a review and each time that review is read by another member. Plus there are great competitions every month where you can earn even bigger rewards.

If you have strong opinions about software, whether positive or negative, and want to get paid for your reviews, you are in the right place. We pay up to 50 dollars for tell-it-like-it-is, no marketing BS, straight talking software reviews.

Sound the Sirens is currently looking for additional writers to add to our staff. We seek talented and hard working writers to boost our current content quantity in a few specific areas. We are looking for MOVIE REVIEWERS who enjoy going out to see movies (big, small, Hollywood, French, local) regularly who wish to write movie reviews on a weekly basis. We can occasionally provide passes to early screenings but as of press time, depend heavily on individuals who spend their own time going out to the movies.

Those interested in becoming RECORD REVIEWERS should also write in as we’ve always got spots open for you. Those interested need to have a solid understanding and appreciation of music from all genres and periods (and no- your extensive Fat Wreck catalogue and/or your history of attending shows at your local dive won’t cut it) and must show a depth in music knowledge. We receive plenty of material each month and require additional writers to cover music reviews.

Do You Want to Review Books?

We feature our editor recommendations in our Book Reviews page as well as in our Off the Press newsletter, and are looking for a limited number of new freelance writers interested in submitting reviews of their favorite books by new authors.

We only accept book recommendations (no negative reviews, new authors have a hard enough time getting noticed), however we don’t expect our reviewers to write about books they didn’t like.

Also, please note that we are not looking for one-paragraph reviews that sound like a cover blurb. We expect our reviewers to take their time and give us specific details about the story and what they did and din’t like about the book. We are not looking for reviews under 350 words.

We pay $5 per review.
