Established Voice Talent

An “Established” voice talent has been working commercially as a talent for some time…typically a few years. They have a demo where you can hear samples of their work. The demo ideally should not have any music or background, just your voice. Please browse our voice demos and this will give you a great idea of what we’re looking for.

Most of the voices we hire have their own studios with ISDN access technology. This allows us to work with them remotely no matter where they live. These in-home studios provide much more flexibility and can dramatically lower costs.

For Narration and Voice-Overs
We also have need for voice-over and professional narration talent for audio-video programs, multimedia presentations and telephone scripts.  Experience recording target language to match timing of English original is essential.  Experience recording concatenated strings a plus.

CES regularly produces audio recordings for ESL tests and dramas. We are expanding our team of on-call adult voice actors/actresses. Experience and/or formal training preferred. Must be a strong sight reader and enunciate clearly. Those with authentic British or Australian accents are also encouraged to apply. This is part time work. As such recordings often take place in the early evening as many of our voice actors have day jobs.

Description of the Role:

One to four voice actors work with an audio engineer/director in CES’ recording studio. Scripts are provided at the time of the recording. The majority of scripts involve students, professors, or office workers in social, casual, business, and classroom settings.

* IMPORTANT: You must either live within one hour of our North Carolina studios, or you must have your own ISDN studio. This does NOT include a studio that you can use from time to time. You must be able to control session scheduling.

* You must be available on short notice, and your ISDN codec should be capable of transmitting Layer II at 128 kilobits mono (Musicam Prima or RoadRunner Series or Telos Zephyr 92xx Series – not the 91xx series!).

* Your studio should meet our requirements for acoustics and sound proofing.

Opening an Opuzz Voice Store is easy and open to all voice talents. However, all talents must have the following to ensure that consistency and quality is ensured, and that the submission is approved & the store is built…ready for potential customers!

Talent Requirements

We’re always on the hunt for fresh new voice talent.  Read the following list thoroughly to see if you have what it takes to be considered.

In order to be considered for placement on the Earworks talent roster, YOU MUST:
(in no particular order)
1- have your own home ISDN setup, OR live within reasonable driving distance of Virginia Beach, Virginia with reliable transportation;

2- have a considerable amount of professional experience behind a microphone and in front of clients*;

3- have an up-to-date demo;

4- be able to sight-read scripts with a basic understanding of the type of read required;

5- be able to record and email decent quality mp3 auditions from your home computer with very quick turnaround;

6- be available for sessions the greater part of the 9-5:30 EST / Monday thru Friday work week;

7- be able to return calls, emails, and/or pages very promptly (within the hour);

8- have a professional attitude, strong work-ethic, and pleasant demeanor.

*Of course, there will be the occasional exception to #2. If you have little or no voice-over experience, but have acting experience and a fantastically “crunk” demo, Earworks may still consider you. However, all other requirements MUST be met.
